The above is a photo of our plumbata target darts also known as martiobarbuli “dart of Mars”, or weighted arrows. Darts may be purchased in sets of six, or half sets of three. We offer these in two weights with a standard 18 inch to 24 inch long by 1/2 inch diameter ash shaft with feather fletch. Please note, our current steel balls and points add approximately 6 inches to the overall length of the finished plumbata. Therefore our 18 inch shafts plus points have an overall length of 24 inches while our 24 inch shafts plus points have an overall length of 30 inches. The feathers may be ordered in a variety of colors. If not specified we’ll ship whatever we have in stock. The examples on the left in the photo are our light model and weigh approximately 140 grams or 1/3 pounds each. The examples on the right are our heavy model and weigh approximately 270 grams or 5/8 pounds each. Both models have the 18 inch long shafts and are approximately 24 inches long overall. The weighted steel heads are 6 1/2 inches long and are attached to the shafts with epoxy for reliability. We also provide single replacement fletched shafts, and heads with no shafts. Allow up to two weeks for assembly and shipping, or three weeks if you have requested a custom fletch color.
